Sam Rosenberg

My name is Sam Rosenberg. I am an 18 year old senior in high school and I have been lifting for 3 years. I lifted in my first competition at age 17 and have now lifted in three competitions. I have previously competed in either the 148 or 165 pound weight class. My best competition lifts to date are a 171-pound bench press, a 275-pound squat, and a 365-pound deadlift. My favorite lift is the squat and I am fortunate enough to have been taught ATG technique from a young age. My goal is to squat at least 315 and deadlift at least 405 at a 165 bodyweight by the end of my senior year. My general philosophy is that progress can only be made by never giving up and pushing the boundaries of what you think you are capable of.

I think powerlifting is… a medium through which one can build a strong sense of self-discipline and an overall strength of the mind and body.

I think competition is… inspiration and motivation from an external source packed into one big adrenaline rush.

I think bodybuilding is… going to help me get bigger. I am currently on a bodybuilding program to help me gain weight.

I think running is… if not supplemented with any other lifting, basically an excuse to shy away from real work.

To me, being a member of Team Force means… being part of a family and being able to share with others the motivation and determination that drives me to succeed and constantly improve myself.

Being a part of Team Force has been a tremendous part of my life for the last three years. When I started lifting, I was an incredibly shy kid and was basically a walking twig. Coach Tim Henriques took the time and effort to train me and introduce me to the world of powerlifting and as I lifted more and reached more milestones, I began to break out of my shell. Powerlifting has completely transformed who I am and I am very excited to make further progress as time goes on.
